With just a few weeks left in Lent, it's never too late to take time to draw closer to God and fulfill the commitments you may have made at the beginning of the season. Lent is a time in which God continually draws us back to His faithful and loving heart. In last week's readings (Fifth Sunday of Lent), we heard of the Father's desire to make new His covenant with His people - the Covenant in Christ Jesus His Son.
I will be their God, and they shall be my people. No longer will they have need to teach their friends and relatives how to know the LORD. All, from least to greatest shall know me, says the LORD, for I will forgive their evildoing and remember their sin no more. (Jeremiah 31: 31-34).
This desire of the Father is brought out in the words of Jesus in John's Gospel. Jesus foreshadows His own Passion and Death, knowing the kind of suffering He will endure for the sake of the whole world.
Now is the time of judgement on this world; now the ruler of this world will be driven out. And when I am lifted from the earth, I will draw everyone to myself. (John 12: 32-33).
Below are some resources to help us "get back in the game" to continue to open our hearts even more, and prepare more fully to receive the immense Love of God during Holy Week.
